Chris is an independent documentary filmmaker and video journalist. He has travelled around the world filming and producing media in over 30 countries.
His most recent program is an hour-long documentary about extinction. In October 2008, he travelled to mexico to begin production on “The Search for the Desert Porpoise”, a quest to film the Vaquita – the most endangered marine mammal in the world. The program was nominated for the ACE/Silverdocs Awards at the 2008 Discovery Channel/Silverdoc Film Festival in Silver Spring Maryland.
In 2008, his documentary “Whales of the Mediterranean Sea” is a 5-part program exploring cetaceans in Europe and the conservation issues they face. It was featured at the 2008 IUCN World Conservation Congress in Barcelona, Spain. It was featured at the 2008 EcoFilm Festival in Rhodos, Greece and the 2008 Onotoa Festival in New Zealand.
In 2007, the program “Southern Right Whales of Argentina” was cited an honorable mention by the International Wildlife Film Festival in Montana for its outstanding cinematography capturing whale behaviors.
In addition to producing his own programs, Chris has provided footage for documentary and news programs for Univision (US/Mexico), BBC (UK), PBS (USA), Sky News (Italy), RAI (Italy), (ABC Australia), Network Ten (Australia) National Geographic News (USA), MTV (Maldives), YaTV (Sri Lanka), EmTV (PNG), SBC (Seychelles) and Reuters (Africa).
